POSITION TITLE:
Security Officer REPORTS TO:
The position is part of the hotel operations department.
This position directly reports to the hotel GM and indirectly reports to the hotel night auditor and weekend Manager on duty MOD.
POSITION
Summary:
The hotel security officer is a professional responsible for protecting the hotel's assets, guests, and employees from potential security threats, dangerous situations, and property damage.
Their duties include conducting regular patrols and investigating suspicious activities.
They quickly respond to emergency calls and situations, coordinate with local police, fire departments, and EMS, and report any unusual occurrences.
In addition, they provide security assistance to all operating departments, administer first aid, and ensure the safety of guests, and employees.
They perform risk assessments, check for safety hazards, and respond to guest and employee inquiries and guest theft accusations.
They work closely with hotel management to ensure the safety of guests and employees.
Fully trained in all emergency procedures and hotel evacuations.
Scheduled shifts:
This is a full-time position that includes benefits and earned Paid time off.
The position will work every Friday, Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday nights from 7 pm -3 am.
Overtime and working on holiday will be required.
Holiday pay is time and a half.
Pay is $18 per hour.

Must exhibit a high level of customer service skills Certifications in CPR, First aid, and the use of an AED machine Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with others during stressful situations Excellent observation skills alert and aware of their surroundings at all times and able to quickly recognize anything out of the ordinary SECURITY OFFICER DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Patrol hotel multiple times per shift.
Complete security checklist, monitor hotel to secure guest and employee safety, prevent theft, violence, and infractions of hotel rules and policies by both guest and employees Maintain a high standard of punctuality and dependability of attendance keep a professional appearance and wear the required security uniform on all scheduled shifts Maintaining a visible presence in hotel public spaces throughout the shift to help reassure guests of their safety Completed thorough and detailed incident reports regarding guest and employee accidents, thefts or disturbances.
Reports must be detailed and complete as they go to the corporate office, the insurance company, and legal counsel.
Assist the front desk as required to fulfill guest requests.
When on a shift without a Housekeeping houseman security will be responsible for the delivery of items to guest rooms and help to ensure the cleanliness of public areas of the hotel inside and out as well as maintaining guest public bathrooms Promptly respond to all radio calls Handle all complaints regarding guest and employee accidents Missing property, noise disturbances, unruly and and intoxicated guests and guest evictions, Smoking in guest rooms, and complaints about dog disturbances to other guests.
Respond promptly to all emergencies and know when to call for help from police, EMS and fire department Understand how to read the fire alarm control panel and know your responsibility for checking/verifying the source of the alarms when to silence alarms and hotel evacuation procedures.
Know where hotel water shut valves are located Prevent the loss or damage of hotel and guest property Escort unruly intoxicated guests and trespassers out of the hotel and off our premises.
Know when to get the police involved.
PREREQUISITES:
Must be proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the English language.
Must have a friendly outgoing attitude and enjoy speaking and engaging with people of all types.
Must have the ability to stand during an 8-hour shift.
Must have a clean criminal background and pass a criminal background check EDUCATION:
High School Graduate or equivalent
Experience:
